Temperatures may have dipped near freezing after the sun went down, but thousands of people still lined Rehoboth Avenue for the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company’s annual Hometown Christmas Parade. The Dec. 5 parade featured fire apparatus from a number of local volunteer fire departments and dozens of floats from businesses and local civic organizations.

Immediately following the parade, RBVFC auxiliary members handed out cookies, while Santa and Mrs. Claus set up shop in the fire hall to hear what all the good boys and girls want for Christmas.

For many years the parade was judged, but the fire company changed that last year and stuck with the new no-judging program this year.
