Rehoboth’s tree is lit, let the holiday season begin

Thousands pack Bandstand for annual sing-along Nov. 29; many more local events happening
December 5, 2019

Thousands of people packed themselves into the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand area for the city’s annual Tree Lighting and Sing-Along Nov. 29. The temperatures were cool, but the winds were light – a perfect evening for the event. Clear Space Theatre hosted the sing-along. The tree was donated by Ed and Traci Humphries of Rehoboth.

Rehoboth’s tree lighting is the first of many holiday events taking place over the next few weeks in the Cape Region. Dewey Beach and Milton had tree-lighting events, followed by Rehoboth Beach Hometown Christmas Parade and Cookies with Santa. The Georgetown Christmas Parade is Thursday, Dec. 5. The Lewes Merchants’ Hospitality Night is also Thursday, Dec. 5. The Lewes Christmas Parade is Saturday, Dec. 7. The Community Unity Dinner in Rehoboth is Sunday, Dec. 8. The Milton Holly Festival is Saturday, Dec. 14. View more holiday happenings in the 'Tis the Season guide at capegazette.com/node/193409.
