Rehoboth Beach Film Society organizers hope members and customers are staying well, being safe, and thinking positively.
Film society employees have been keeping busy during the shutdown period. The theaters have been thoroughly cleaned, the ticket sales area has been reorganized, and the supply closet has been scoured.
Estimates for replacing the stained carpet tiles in the theater are being taken. The project will be paid for using the restricted CAT Sustaining Fund.
Due to the governor’s declaration for nonessential businesses to close, the office has closed and some work is being done remotely.
Bonus screenings of “Holy Science” and “Anne Frank Parallel Stories” from the Jewish Film Festival will be rescheduled when the reopening date of the Cinema Art Theater is determined.
Organizers recognize that, with the Cinema Art Theater closed, some may be hesitant about renewing a membership or joining for the first time. The film society does need support during this challenging period, and a special offer is in place through which supporters get something extra. Members with a membership expiration date of March 31 who renew before that date will receive thee months free, or 15 months of membership, for the price of one year, so the new expiration date would be June 30, 2021.
