Return Day seeks parade entries, vendors, donations for Nov. 8 event

September 8, 2018

The Sussex County Return Day Committee has been hard at work preparing for this year’s event to be held Thursday, Nov. 8.

Organizers are seeking parade entries from civic or fraternal organizations, churches, schools, fire departments, and other local groups such as car clubs, equestrian groups or sports teams. Parade entries can be floats, marching units, bands or even a motorized grouping. All are welcome.

Vendors are needed for concessions, informational booths, arts and crafts booths, antiques and collectibles booths, and entertainment booths. Call the office number below for a form or to inquire about vendor space size and costs.

This year’s youth ambassador is Wyatt Warner, whose community service is to gather needed items for Joshua House Ministries for the homeless. Community members are asked to support this worthwhile project by donating personal hygiene items, socks, gloves, bottled water, laundry detergent, tick repellent and food items such as toaster pastries, pop-top cans of soup, cheese or peanut butter crackers, and other easy-open, nonperishable items. Gently used sweatshirts and coats will also be accepted. Items for this project can be dropped off at the Marvel Carriage Museum.

For more information or to get parade entry forms or vendor forms, call the Sussex County Return Day office at 302-855-0722.
