Richard Allen Coalition appreciates gala support

February 11, 2020

A record sold-out event! Richard Allen Coalition Inc. would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who supported our 5th Annual Gala Saturday, Feb. 1, at the CHEER Community Center in Georgetown to help preserve the rich history of the Richard Allen School located at 316 South Railroad Ave.

We are very fortunate to have wonderful support from people like you who continue to make a difference in our community.
The success of the Richard Allen School is only made possible through the considerable support received from businesses, organizations, individuals, churches, elected officials, and others.

Thank you for your generosity, your trust, and most importantly your commitment to our mission and goals:
(1) To preserve the history of public education of African-Americans in Sussex County; (2) To conserve the heritage and contributions of African-Americans in Delaware; (3) To foster tolerance and a sense of community among all Sussex County residents; (4) to inspire young people to continue the work for civil and human rights; (5) To provide a space that will house the artifacts of the heritage of the African-American community in Sussex County; (6) To serve as a community center where educational programs and artistic events for people of all ages are held; (7) To conduct workshops that provide young people with knowledge of the past so they can understand the present and develop the skills to build a better future for themselves and their community.

If you were not able to attend our gala and would still like to donate, please make checks payable to Richard Allen Coalition, Inc. and mail to P.O. Box 624, Georgetown, DE 19947.

Thank you again for helping to make this year’s gala so successful. We look forward to your support in February 2021.

Jane Hovington, president
Diaz J. Bonville, vice president
