Richard Byrne asks for your vote

August 9, 2018

Running for Rehoboth Beach commissioner has been an incredible experience. Walking around town I have talked to so many interesting people, and have heard so many good ideas on how to maintain this city that we all love. I have enjoyed talking to business owners and learning about what is important to helping quality businesses thrive.

I am encouraged by the positive attitudes I have encountered, and the desire for collaboration for the good of all. In visiting all city department heads I appreciate the complexity of keeping a city operating in a way that responds to needs of citizens, businesses, and visitors to our community. All of this has fueled my desire to serve and be part of this interesting and flourishing city.

I believe that if elected as commissioner, I can apply a host of experiences - managing large complex organizations, forging collaborations to solve problems, and listening to constituent ideas and concerns - to the work of the City of Rehoboth Beach.
I also bring a great deal of energy to the tasks at hand. I have enjoyed chairing the Animal Issues Committee and serving on the Mayor's Advisory Committee on Trees, and am eager to work for the city on a much broader scale.

I would enjoy rolling up my sleeves and working hard, collaborating with colleagues, helping to make important decisions and communicating across the city. Whether elected or not, this has been an excellent experience, and I respect every person who has given me time to talk, to listen, and to learn.

I will very much appreciate your vote this Saturday, Aug. 11.

Richard Byrne
candidate for commissioner
Rehoboth Beach
