Richard Jones, retired pilot

Richard Jones, 79, of Lewes passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at Country Rest Home, in Greenwood. He was born Aug. 23, 1938, in Chester, Pa., son of the late John and Ruth (Barnes) Jones .

Mr. Jones proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for over 30 years, retiring as a senior master sergeant. He continued flying after retirement, as a pilot and flight instructor. Mr. Jones was a loving and compassionate man, fostering 128 children throughout his lifetime. He was an adoring and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Dyanne Jones; his children: John Richard Jones (Ricky), Joni J. Mahon and Eva M. Zubicki; his grandchildren: Ashley, Chelsea and Brendon Mahon, and Bryce and Connor Zubicki; and his adopted children: Lane, Derek, Teri, Tellis and Shawn Jones.

A Chapel Committal Service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m., at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Mr. Jones' memory to the Parkinson Foundation, 8830 Cameron Street, #201, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
