It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rita Patricia Mitchell, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026. She was born May 23, 1963, in Cherry Hill, N.J. Rita built a life filled with love, laughter and cherished memories.

Rita was a beautiful soul who could make anyone laugh no matter the circumstances. She will be remembered for her infectious sense of humor, her love of reality television, her well-known coffee addiction and her belief that a small sweet treat was always a necessity. With her bubbly personality, Rita had a special gift for making everyone feel welcomed, included and loved.

Above all, she was devoted to her family. Her children will forever remember the strength, love and unwavering support that shaped their lives and gave them comfort through every season.

Rita was preceded in death by her father, John Francis Aloisio. She is survived by her mother, Jean Valancia Smagala; her brother, John Aloisio; her four children, Alicia Mitchell, Nicole Mitchell, Kimberly Mitchell, and her youngest child and only son, Michael John Mitchell; and one grandchild, Molly Hudson.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, Rita's love, laughter and spirit will remain a guiding light in the hearts of all who knew her.
