Robert R. ‘Bob’ Loetzer, proud veteran

Robert R. Loetzer "Bob," 93, of Rehoboth Beach passed away of natural causes Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family.  He was born Monday, May 23, 1927, in New Brunswick, N.J., to Elwood and Ethel Loetzer.

Bob was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the U.S. Navy, achieving the rank of Pharmacists Mate Third Class.  He was awarded both the American Theater Ribbon and WWII Victory Ribbon.  Bob continued to work in the medical field after his military service, dedicating time with Schering-Plough, Beebe Healthcare and Dr. Sukumar.  Above all, he cherished time spent with those he held most dear.  Bob was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.  He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Edithe Loetzer; his children: Judy, Russell, Diane (Brian), Pattie (Van), Darlene and Douglas (Lynne); his 17 grandchildren; and his 24 great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
