Robert T. Carbone, Milton Lions Club member

Robert T. Carbone, 81, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., after a short illness. Bob was born in Peekskill, N.Y., June 7, 1937.

He was preceded in death by his father, Augustine; mother, Marion Shea Lancaster; his stepfather, Robert Lancaster; and uncles, Frank Shea and Joe Shea of Peekskill.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Elaine Mooney Carbone of Milton; his children and spouses whom he dearly loved, daughter Deborah Carbone Agresti (John) of Coral Springs, Fla., son Robert Carbone Jr. (Susan) of East Peoria, Ill., and daughter Kristin Carbone (Yofi) of Baltimore, Md.; two grandchildren whom he adored, Rio and Silvan Carbone-Weinberg; his dear sister, Judith Carbone of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; and an aunt, Margaret Curran of Buchanon, N.Y.

Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He then began his career with IBM where he worked for over 35 years. After retirement, Bob and Elaine relocated to Milton 18 years ago. He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes.

Bob was a past president of the Milton Lions Club, and enjoyed many years of service to community projects such as driving the Milton train, helping build ramps for the disabled, and fundraising projects.

In his retirement, he enjoyed watching the New York Yankees, westerns, and being a Dad and Pop Pop.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Milton Lion's Club, P.O. Box 256, Milton, DE 19968.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 17, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, with a time of visitation Monday evening, July 16, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
