Royals dominate Mallards 3-0

The Delmarva Christian volleyball squad royally defeated Worcester Prep 3-0 Sept. 23 at Berlin, Md.

The Mallards never got off the ground as the visiting Royals won 25-5, 25-6 and 25-16 to move to 5-1 on the season. Worcester dropped to 2-3.

Tessa Kwiatkowski and Ashlyn Stonebraker combined for 19 assists, while Sierra Troyer, Savannah Stewart, Grace Fetterman, Olivia Berger, Evelyn Jensen, Lily Fetterman, Makayla Heinrichs and Kandice Schlabach teamed to put down 24 kills. Chloe Wilson, Stewart, Heinrichs, Berger and Kwiatkowski slammed 19 aces.

“I got to see some of our younger players play today,” said Royals head coach Jim Berger. “We didn’t miss a beat with whoever we had in there. I also got to move some players around and got some ideas for the future.”

The Royals will host a quad-meet Friday, Sept. 27, with ESIAC teams Holly Grove Christian School, Salisbury Christian School and Worcester Prep.
