An undefeated week against the Henlopen Conference has the Delmarva Christian boys' soccer team on the cusp of leveling its season record after declawing Polytech 3-1 Sept. 22 and remaining hot on offense with a 6-3 victory over Seaford Sept. 25.
Senior Noah Barbrow picked up a goal, and his classmate Brennan Walls registered an assist in the 3-1 win. Junior speedster Blake Dale continued to show off his improved touch and potent finish with two goals in the Sept. 22 game.
Dale felt scoring twice was so nice that he did it against Seaford, this time being joined in the brace club by captain Cam Smithson in the 6-3 victory. Walls finished off a courageous run by tickling some twine with a shot on a one-on-one with the Blue Jays keeper. Ian Campell also scored for Delmarva Christian. Senior Diego Guajardo, sophomore Noah McCluskey, Dale and Walls each tallied one assist for the Royals. Freshman Ben Strawhecker collected 19 saves in the contest.
Delmarva Christian will hope to use the momentum on Middle School Recognition Night to slay the Dragons from Salisbury School at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29.
