Royals field hockey falls to Holly Grove
The Delmarva Christian field hockey team dropped a 5-0 game to Holly Grove Sept. 20 at home. It was all Eagles, as they outshot the Royals 26-2.
Mara Agapito stopped 21 Holly Grove shots. Abigail Webster had two saves for the Eagles. Scoring for Holly Grove were Bethany Hartman with two goals and Dusty-Rose Miller, Olivia Tullous and Cassidy Merrill with single goals. Tullous had two assists, while Gabrielle Messick had one.
The Royals fell to Sussex Central 9-0 Sept. 21 at Delmarva Christian’s All Sports Day.
The Golden Knights took 41 shots on the Royals’ cage, while the Royals were held without a shot.
McKenna Boyle had three goals and an assist for the Knights. Carly Collins, Saige Bullock, Abbigail Gray, Maille Ryan, Bayleigh Perdue and Carissa Jackson each tallied a goal. Shelby Verosko and Macy Layfield each had a helper.
The 2-4 Royals were set to travel to Berlin Monday, Sept. 23, to face the 2-3 Worcester Prep Mallards. Sussex Central hosts Sussex Academy Tuesday, Sept. 24.
