As the running season begins, a glimpse of its heritage

The information included with this photograph is confusing, but the image is not. It is clearly a running race, and the vintage of the automobiles in the distance confirms its 1926 date. Part of the information says the location is New Castle County but another piece of information says the image shows a running race as part of a badge test for boys during a Sussex County Field Day. The landscape is certainly flat enough to be Sussex.
