I believe Russ Huxtable is the best-qualified Democratic candidate for state Senate District 6 because he is focused on the issues: investment in environmentally friendly infrastructure, balanced growth to improve and protect our quality of life, the need for affordable workforce housing, and a strong public education system. A native Delawarean, Russ will work diligently in all of these areas, applying his expertise, experience and energy to successfully get the job done.
While many readers will agree with Russ’ stance on these issues and the need to take action, that’s not enough to send him to Dover. He can’t get the job done unless his supporters get out and vote on primary day, Sept. 13, to ensure that he will be the Democratic candidate in the November General Election. Historically, primary elections experience very low turnout, and a small number of voters can decide the outcome. In the 2020 primary election, for example, Sussex County Council District 3 was decided by 44 votes!
Delaware residents are fortunate to live in a state that makes it easy for citizens to register and to vote, through in-person registration right up until the Sept. 13 primary date, and online and mail-in registration up to Aug. 20.
And, in light of what’s happening on the federal level with issues that impact our standard of living and personal lives, state leadership and competence are more critical than ever. That’s why Russ Huxtable has my vote.
