Saliba, Webb very impressive candidates

April 23, 2021

Several years from now, what would you like your grandchildren to experience in living in Lewes and nearby? On Saturday, May 8, please well consider our shared long-term interests and your grandchildren’s future.

We’ve recently shared a couple of hours with two candidates, Khalil Saliba (for city council) and Earl Webb (for board of public works), and we’ve been very impressed, not only with their willingness to give back to their community, but by their willingness to listen, to bring people together, to civilly discuss challenges to arrive at answers that best suit our community.

Both Khalil and Earl well recognize the challenges before us. From BPW and the city of Lewes working together, to dealing with development and traffic and all that comes with a burgeoning population, to water (our most important resource), to the urgent challenge of climate change. Both pledge to be transparent, to further clear communication, to further understanding of the notion that we must all work together, especially to address what’s agreed upon by over 2,000 of the world’s leading climatologists and has been described as the challenge “…that will define the contours of the 21st century more than any other,” sea level rise and all that comes with climate change.

Please consider these two remarkably generous and thoughtful candidates; Khalil and Earl would complement the unselfish efforts of Rob Morgan who continues to well serve our community. Please remember to register to vote by April 23 for both the Lewes City Council election and the Lewes Board of Public Works election (please remember both require separate registrations) Saturday, May 8.

Thank you for your consideration.
