July 19, 2018

Sandra Ann Long, 74, of Laurel, formerly of Dagsboro, passed away peacefully Friday, July 13, 2018, surrounded by her loving family after a 43-year battle with M.S. She was born Oct. 20, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late George E. II and Mildred Mae Fisher Long. She was a retired hairdresser, working many years at Stockley Center. She raised two children. She was a volunteer coordinator for several years at the Christian Storehouse. She loved to make everyone happy, and her hobbies included bird watching, sharing stories and watching TV. Her favorite reruns are “Little House” and “The Waltons.” She somehow could decode her TV remotes, baffling her family. She cherished every moment she could be with family. She loved classic cars with loud exhaust pipes! Sandra loved all animals, especially her beloved dog, Oliver and cat, Precious.

She is survived by two children, Charles Wilkerson and wife Tracey of Laurel, and Amy Littleton, also of Laurel. She has one brother, George E. “Sonny” Long III and his wife Debbie. There are six grandchildren, Michelle Elizabeth Mousa and her husband Sam, Charley Marie Malone and her husband George, Patrick Lee Littleton, Charles Lee “C.J.” Wilkerson III, Amanda Brooke Whaley, and Timothy Scott Causey; and two great-grandchildren, Anisa Mousa and Ibrahim Mousa. Sandra had several special friends: Karen; Sara Beth; Patty and Henry; Paula; Janet; Connie; Stella and Marion; and many other friends and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a sister, Sharon Amy Long.

A memorial service and Celebration of Her Life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 28, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. Friends may call one hour prior for visitation with the family. Interment will follow at Redmen’s Cemetery, Selbyville. Flowers are welcome or the family suggests memorial contributions to the Christian Storehouse, PO Box 239, Millsboro, DE 19966.
