Sandra L. Graves, prayer warrior

Sandra L. Graves, 70, of Millsboro, formerly of Wilmington and Florida, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2018.    

Sandy was born in Wilmington Aug. 6, 1948, to the late Charles and Marion Morris Graves. 

She was a member of Bethany Community Church in Laurel, where she was known as the "prayer warrior."  She was very thankful, helpful and kind to everyone. 

Sandy enjoyed craft day with the ladies and helping the community.  She liked to crochet, make homemade cards, cooking and working in the garden.  She shared the fruits of her labor with everyone.  She loved being with her family, and especially cooking and baking with her nieces and nephews at Christmas time. Sandy was a hugger;  she would hug you when she saw you and again before you left. She was a really big spirit in a small package, a very special person to all who knew her.  She will be greatly missed by all.  

She is survived by her four siblings, Janice M. Vickers and her husband William H. III of Millsboro, Charles L. Graves and his wife Beverly of Georgetown, Marion "Patty" Graves of Wilmington and Deborah A. Hoover and her husband Robert T. Jr. of Wilmington;  10 nieces and nephews, Billy, Tina, Kate, Lenny, Kirtis, John, Michael, Jesse, Bobby and Amber; along with 17 great-nieces and -nephews; and two great-great-nieces. She is also survived by many cousins, friends and her church family who all loved her dearly.    

A memorial service will be held at noon, Monday, Oct. 22, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon for visitation with the family.  Inurnment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial. Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Bethany Community Church, 28015 Kaye Road, Laurel, DE  19956.
