Sandy Lee Hallman, devoted to family

June 10, 2019

A beloved, loving mother and adored, devoted wife, Sandy Lee Hallman, 77, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, June 5, 2019, after a brief illness.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Irwin Hallman; her three sons, Joseph Scott, Gregory (Robin) and Justin (Claudia,); and five grandchildren whom she adored, Joshua, Kayla, Christopher, Ryan and Eleanor; as well as a legion of devoted friends, nieces, and nephews.

Born in Norristown, Pa., the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Sandy was the first child of Luther Samuel Rahmer and Eleanor Szymanski Rahmer. She was soon joined by sisters Sharon Morgan (Joseph and Lori Sarnocinski (Stanley); and brother Larry Rahmer (Vicki.)

Sandy lived a life of love and happiness, filled with an abundance of both. A member of East Gate Presbyterian Church, she was a gifted cook who found great joy in reading, but most of all, Sandy loved being surrounded by her loved ones, of which she had many. A life well lived.

A celebration of her life will be held  at  11 a.m., Thursday, June 20, at East Gate Presbyterian Church, 34806 Church Lane, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Delaware, 1300 N. Grant Ave., Wilmington, DE  19806, or to East Gate Presbyterian Church, 34806 Church Lane, Millsboro, DE  19966.
