December 1, 2021

Savannah Animal Hospital founders Drs. Bob Pedigo and Andi Richter officially retired from the practice Nov. 26.

Established in October 1988 at 33818 Wescoats Road, Lewes, Savannah Animal Hospital has become one of the leading veterinary clinics in the area. Its doctors, vets and staff have cared for thousands of pets and their families over the years.

“The journey from a small, mixed animal practice in an old house that also served as home to our young family, to the current premier small animal hospital that exists today has been beyond exciting,” said Richter.

SAH will continue to operate under the ownership of Drs. Christine Clark, Erin Giebel and Melissa Schwarmann.

Pedigo and Richter will continue to divide their time between their homes in Delaware and Kentucky.

“Through the years with a fabulous team of employees, SAH’s mission of Serving People Through Their Pets has provided us with a place to help others since 1988,” said Pedigo. “We have gone through much together as the practice has grown and evolved. The loyalty we have experienced over the years has been amazing, and the relationships we have developed with families through their pets are dear to us. We are very thankful for our tenure at SAH.”
