Scenic car rally and raffle to benefit VIA Oct. 28

The Village Improvement Association in Rehoboth Beach will host a scenic car rally fundraiser starting at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 28.

Participants can enjoy exploring the fall foliage and unique historic sites of southern Sussex County as they raise funds for the VIA’s charitable projects by joining a short, approximately 2- to 3-hour rally and scavenger hunt. 

Organizers choose the stops. A list of locations and scavenger questions will be provided prior to start. Individual drivers decide how and in what order to get to each one. The driver with the lowest mileage after reaching all stops wins. Scavenger hunt points help reduce the miles, too. Notification of each driver’s starting place will be emailed to registrants.

Prizes to be awarded are $125 in SoDel Concepts gift cards for first place; $75 in Nicola Pizza gift cards for second place; and $50 in SoDel Concepts gift cards for third place.

Each ticket comes with a raffle entry to win a Delaware 4-digit premium license plate which can be converted to any of the plate styles, including black, for an additional fee.

Tickets are $25 per car.

The Village Improvement Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of others through volunteer service.

All tickets must be purchased in advance. Ticket cost will only be refunded if the event is canceled.
