Schell Brothers donate to Alzheimer’s walk

October 14, 2018

Schell Brothers LLC presented a check in the amount of $5,000 to Wendy's Warriors, the No. 1 Rehoboth Beach Walk to End Alzheimer’s team, which has so far raised $13,615 for Alzheimer’s research. Schell Brothers challenged the 13 Schell Brothers communities to see which one could raise the most funds. Wendy’s Warriors won the challenge.

The free, local care and support programs of the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter are offered to as many as 26,000 Delawareans who are affected by Alzheimer’s. The disease, which kills more people than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined, is the only cause of death among the top 10 that has no cure, cannot be prevented or even slowed.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Rehoboth Beach took place Sept. 29. More than 700 participants raised nearly $133,000, which came close to the Delaware Valley Chapter’s goal of $177,000.

Donations to this year’s Rehoboth Walk will be accepted through Dec. 30 at www.alz.org/delval/walk or 800-272-3900.
