The GFWC Women’s Club of Indian River recently awarded its inaugural scholarship in the amount of $1,000 for postsecondary education or career training to Victoria Evans.
Evans is a recent graduate of Sussex Academy, where she excelled academically as well as athletically, and demonstrated leadership skills and volunteerism. She plans on attending Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania-Bloomsburg to study speech pathology.
The mission of the GFWC Women’s Club of Indian River is to give back to the community through supporting local projects, veterans and educational initiatives, including a scholarship awarded to a local high school student who has shown commitment to their studies, leadership and their communities through volunteerism.
