School board email newsletter keeps readers up-to-date

Parents, staff, community can sign up for Board E-Report
October 31, 2019

Community members unable to attend a Cape Henlopen school board meeting can still stay up-to-date on district happenings by signing up for the Board E-Report.

School board President Alison Myers said the e-report is an opportunity for community members, staff and parents to receive a recap of board decisions and discussions.

Since the board launched the email newsletter in August 2018, the subscriber list has grown steadily, but Myers would like to extend its reach.

Board E-Report content is developed by Myers or school board Vice President Jason Bradley and distributed to subscribers through the online email marketing platform MailChimp.

Myers said the e-report is not considered official meeting minutes; it provides a brief summary of the meeting just days after it occurred. All official meeting minutes need to be approved by the board at the following month’s meeting before they are posted online, Myers said.

Board meeting schedules, agendas, minutes and audiorecordings of previous board meetings can all be found under the Board of Education tab at capehenlopenschools.com.
