The Sussex County League of Women Voters will hold its next social gathering from 12 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Cottage Cafe, 33034 Coastal Highway, Bethany Beach.
Danielle Swallow, a coastal hazards specialist with Delaware Sea Grant, will present “Rising Seas, Rising Stakes: Preparing Delaware for What is Next.”
Swallow provides technical assistance and outreach to Delaware communities on building resilience to weather and climate hazards. She is co-founder of the Resilient and Sustainable Communities League, a professional network of organizations dedicated to helping communities thrive in the face of a changing climate. She is also active in advising communities about land-use practices, and disaster preparedness, response and recovery.
Dining with separate checks will precede Swallow's presentation. As a nonpartisan organization, the league welcomes anyone interested in gaining insight into current political issues. Although the event is open to all, seating is limited and preregistration is required. For more information and to register, go to sussexlwv.org.
