Seahawks boys’ basketball falls to Salisbury Christian

December 8, 2022

The Sussex Academy boys’ basketball team dropped its home opener 48-24 to the Salisbury Christian Jags Dec. 6.

The Seahawks were led by sophomore Dmitry Barlow with 10 points. Christian Schimmel added six, while Rotchild Louius chipped in four.

The Jags were paced by Caleb Thompson and Greyson Tripoli, who teamed for 23 points.

“It was a building-block game for us,” said Sussex Academy head coach Brad Leinbach. “We were down two regulars due to the flu and are awaiting a DIAA ruling on one player. We have a young team and look forward to our future. Kudos to Tyrese Mims who played his first high school game and fought off nerves to bury our first points of the season.”

The Seahawks traveled to Red Lion Christian Dec. 7, where they fell 68-42. Mims scored 25 points.

The 0-2 Seahawks host the Salisbury School Friday, Dec. 9.
