Sebastian ‘Bob’ R. LaRocca, jet mechanic

Sebastian “Bob” R. LaRocca, 77, of Harbeson, formerly of Hazlet and Spotswood, N.J., passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Jan. 24,1942, son of the late James and Lillian (Donisi) LaRocca. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, Bob attended and graduated from Teterboro School of Aeronautics.  

Bob worked as a jet engine mechanic for Eastern Airlines and United Airlines before his retirement. He enjoyed building and flying RC airplanes, fishing and boating. Bob also enjoyed watching Clint Eastwood movies and dancing with his loving companion of 10 years, Marilyn Kowalsky. 

In addition to his companion, Marilyn Kowalsky, he is survived by three children, James LaRocca of Yuma, Ariz., Robert LaRocca and his wife Jennifer of Monroe Township, N.J., and Christine Cinquergrana and her husband Jason of Hazlet; three grandchildren, Brianne LaRocca, Gabriella LaRocca and Mia Rose Cinquergrana; and two sisters, Marie Bogart and her husband Frank of Holmdel, N.J., and Louise Meredith and her husband Russel of Lewes.

A prayer service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends and family may call after 11 a.m.  Interment with military honors will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
