Senators residents showcase community nonprofits

June 19, 2019

Residents of the Senators community in Lewes recently held an event to showcase the many nonprofit organizations they support through volunteering in different ways.

The educational forum allowed Senators residents to learn from their neighbors about volunteering opportunities in Sussex County. It also provided information on upcoming fundraising events such as dinners, golfing, cruises and silent auctions.

Whether their interests lie in food, gardening, history, maritime, education, social work, reading, movies, or marine mammals and sea turtles, there was something for everyone to explore.

The following organizations were represented by Senators residents: Lewes In Bloom, GWFC Zwaanendael Women’s Club, Lewes Historical Society, Lightship Overfalls, Historic Lewes Farmers Market, Friends of the Lewes Public Library,  Fort Miles Historical Association, Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth, Community Resource Center, Read Aloud Delaware, MERR Institute, Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park, Delaware River and Bay Lighthouse Foundation, Rehoboth Beach Film Society, Clothing Our Kids, Jusst Sooup Kitchen, Habitat for Humanity, Greater Lewes Community Village and Lewes Police Foundation.
