Sharing the Cape Gazette with warriors of the Emperor Qinshihaung’s Mausoleum Site Museum

In September, Bradley Kirkes and David Camorali traveled to China.

They walked the Mutianyu Great Wall in Beijing, the best-preserved section of the Great Wall and while in Xi’an they visited the Emperor Qinshihaung’s Mausoleum Site Museum. Wanting to protect himself in the afterlife, Emperor Qin created an army of 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses, and 150 cavalry horses made of terra-cotta. The pits of terracotta warriors and horses first discovered in 1974 were one of the biggest contemporary archeological discoveries.
