Short’s Marine Labor Day Sale to run Sept. 3-7

August 26, 2020

Short’s Marine on Long Neck Road has held a Labor Day Weekend Sale for the last 37 years.

“It’s going to be a little different for our 38th annual sale thanks to the pandemic,” said Donald Short, president of Short’s Marine. “Over the years, this sale has become an event that customers look forward to for months. So we expect a number of attendees, but we are scaling the event down so we don’t bring a giant crowd all at once. And, we are going to stretch it out a few more days. It starts on Thursday, Sept. 3, and runs through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7.”

Short’s Marine is practicing social distancing and following CDC guidelines for disinfecting its facilities. “We require all customers to wear a mask while they are here. Everyone at Short’s Marine is doing their part, and we ask our customers to please do their part too in order to keep everyone safe. Our facilities are professionally cleaned and disinfected daily,” said Short.

The details of the sale have been changed in order to allow extra precautions.

“We’re not going to have tents set up because we don’t want people to congregate underneath them as they would normally do. We have also decided to have the event on one side of Long Neck Road instead of having the sale encompass our entire campus. It’s going to be smaller. The amount of people in our showroom at one time will be limited. It will be a little different. But one thing that that will not be different is that it’s still going to be our last sale of the season,” Short said.

Short’s Marine is one of the Top 100 Boat Dealers in North America and celebrated its 70th year in business last year. Short’s Marine is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, at 32415 Long Neck Road, Millsboro.
