Sierra Club endorses Garlow for commissioner

August 9, 2019

The following letter was sent to Rehoboth Beach commissioner candidate Charlie Garlow, with a copy submitted to the Cape Gazette for publication.

I am pleased to inform you that the Delaware Chapter of the Sierra Club has endorsed your candidacy for Rehoboth Beach city commissioner.

As a long-time member of the Sierra Club (since 1968), you have built a strong environmental record. Your efforts have brought numerous partners together as we work to improve air and water quality in Rehoboth Beach, Sussex County, and the State of Delaware! We greatly appreciate your continued work on critical Sierra Club priorities such as clean water and renewable energy.

The Sierra Club endorsement means a lot to our members in your district and to the general voting public. Our endorsement sends a message of your strong support for protecting our environment, health and democracy. Feel free to use the Sierra Club name  in your campaign materials. We will post the Sierra Club endorsement on our website and social media pages.

The Delaware Sierra Club is behind your efforts to raise environmental issues during your campaign and we are here to help if you need any additional information. We are proud of our endorsement process and wholeheartedly extend our support for your campaign. We look forward to working with you once elected.

Sherri L. Evans-Stanton
chapter director
