Six file for two seats in Rehoboth municipal election

The deadline to file for Rehoboth Beach’s 2019 municipal election passed at 4:30 p.m., June 3, and six candidates filed for two seats. The term length is for three years.

The six candidates are Mark Betchkal, Edward Chrzanowski, Charles Garlow, Susan Gay, Gary Glass and Suzanne Goode.

Commissioners Stan Mills and Toni Sharp announced last week they would not be seeking re-election this year. Between the two - Mills with 12, Sharp with 8 - the board of commissioners will be losing two decades worth of experience.

The election is Saturday, Aug. 10. To be eligible to vote, a person must register on or before Thursday, July 11. Any qualified elector may request an absentee ballot to vote by filing a request for an absentee ballot form no later than noon, Friday, Aug. 9.
