Slaughter Beach community seeks information on damaged gate

A Slaughter Beach homeowners group is offering a reward for information on a July 5 crash that damaged a gate to the community.
 
A video shows that the crash happened at 2:13 a.m. at the end of Bay Avenue when appeared to be a white Dodge Durango crashed into the security gate for the Southern Pointe Shores Homeowners Association. The vehicle is believed to be a 2017 or 2019 Durango with black outside mirrors, a member of the homeowner’s association said. Debris from the car was left at the crash site, the member said.
 
The vehicle may have front end damage, a broken windshield, or the tires may have been flattened from the crash. The Southern Pointe Shores HOA is offering a reward of $5,000 to the first person who can provide positive Identification of the vehicle and driver involved.
