SoDel Cares donates $15,000 to Joshua M. Freeman Foundation

June 11, 2018

SoDel Cares, the philanthropic arm of SoDel Concepts, recently donated $15,000 to the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation, which operates The Freeman Stage, a performing arts venue in Selbyville.

Established in 2007 to honor Josh Freeman, former chair of the Carl. M. Freeman Foundation, the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation’s mission is to provide memorable performances and inspire arts education. The Freeman Stage attracts more than 50,000 visitors a year.

“The Freeman Stage has become an anchor for the arts in coastal Sussex County,” said Scott Kammerer, founder of SoDel Cares and president of SoDel Concepts, which owns 10 restaurants and Plate Catering. The nonprofit does much more than offer performances, he said. “They bring the arts to children, and they bring children to the stage. Many of the kids are experiencing live performances for the first time.”

SoDel Cares has been a regular contributor to the foundation. This year, SoDel Cares requested that the funds support arts outreach programs in the local community.
