SoDel Fest seeks local beneficiaries for Sept. 26 event

February 5, 2020

The 6th Annual Southern Delaware Wine, Food and Music Festival is set for Saturday, Sept. 26.

Applications are now open for nonprofit organizations interested in partnering with Creative Coastal Connections Corp. to benefit from the event.

“This event is a celebration of the very best of coastal Delaware – our restaurants, breweries, wine merchants and musicians,” said event organizer and Executive Director Stacy LaMotta, who founded the Wine, Food & Music Festival in 2014. “While we provide a great experience for fest participants, we have also been able to give more than $130,000 to Sussex County charities and nonprofits, and we are very proud to make that impact while having a fun and delicious afternoon.”

In 2019, revenue from sponsorships and ticket sales resulted in a $32,000 donation to the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children, and Children & Families First. Both of these respected Delaware nonprofits assist Sussex County children.

Each year, the festival board of directors chooses two to three charitable groups to benefit from the event. Each beneficiary is highlighted on the Southern Delaware Wine, Food & Music Festival website, press releases, news coverage, marketing efforts and promotional materials, boosting name and mission recognition.

“We have such a creative, talented community here in coastal Delaware. The chefs, sommeliers, restaurant owners, musicians, businesses and volunteers who make the festival the premier event that it has become are just awe-inspiring,” LaMotta said. “We’re expecting another big crowd, and we will all have a great time while giving a much-needed boost to the selected charitable organizations.”

The Southern Delaware Wine, Food & Music Festival was named Best Event for 2019 by Southern Delaware Tourism.
