Sound healing and meditation workshop set June 21

June 16, 2018

Julie Fisher and Sue Greer will offer a unique opportunity to experience the power of sound healing at 7 p.m., Thursday, June 21, at The Yoga Studio in Peddlers Village on Route 24. Cost is $20, payable at the door. Participants should arrive by 6:45 p.m.

SoundFlow is a guided meditation developed by Fisher and Greer that helps quiet the mind to prepare for meditation and healing. The use of sound becomes a powerful tool to move into meditation. Sound can also loosen and release old negative patterns and beliefs. Once the mind slows or stops its chatter, participants are able to move more deeply into a state of quiet and deep reflection. In this place, negative patterns and beliefs can rise to the surface of consciousness and be released. This release frees clogged emotional space that can be filled with energy and growth.

Fisher and Greer are working together to blend the sound of singing bowls and drums with the voice. “It is such an exciting collaboration for me,” said Fisher. “I have felt healed simply by having a cup of tea with Greer. Being with Greer is like being near a still, clear lake in the mountains, it is so deeply grounding and clarifying. I am so eager to blend our work.”

Fisher is a Delaware native who has traveled throughout the U.S., including Hawaii, to study the healing arts. She discovered her true gift as a sound healer, and studied to learn the art of working with singing bowls. Fisher has been offering sound meditation healing sessions at the Yoga Studio for a year.  She said, “I have learned the truth that sound is beyond thought. Immersing in sound really can help release old patterns and beliefs that keep us from growing into our true selves.”

Greer is a renowned healer, clairvoyant and teacher. She has been clairvoyant from birth and has developed a private practice in energy medicine to restore balance in one’s subtle energy body. She has studied with many teachers in becoming a teacher herself. Greer has offices in Silver Spring, Md.; Alexandria, Va; and in Lewes at Quakertown Wellness.

“Sue Greer is a gem of a resource for this community,” said Rachel Grier-Reynolds of Lewes.
