Sound healing meditation at Urban Float March 18

March 11, 2020

Urban Float and Gifted Alchemy will offer an opportunity to experience a live sound healing meditation while floating at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, at Urban Float in Rehoboth Beach.

Cost is $125 or $85 for float club members. Space is limited to six participants. They will rest in a private, sensory-managed float pod for 60 minutes while listening to a live sound meditation by local sound practitioner Julie Fisher from Gifted Alchemy.

Weightlessly relaxing in purified water and 1,200 lbs of epsom salt has physical, mental and emotional benefits. Floating and sound healing have both been clinically proven to reduce stress, provide relief from anxiety, reduce pain and improve mental focus.

Participants will use waterproof headphones to listen to Fisher’s live sound meditation. “We had to do several test runs to find a configuration that delivered the vibrations of the sound to the floater,” said Fisher. “It was very important that the participants be able to feel the sound rather than simply hearing it. This is an idea that we had from the beginning, so we are very excited to finally offer live sound meditations in the float pods.”

Gifted Alchemy is a wellness business owned by Delaware native Julie Fisher. She has traveled throughout the U.S., including Hawaii, to study the healing arts. She discovered her true gift as a sound healer, and studied to learn the art of working with singing bowls. Fisher has been offering sound meditation healing sessions locally for four years,

Fisher said, “When Urban Float approached me to offer my sound work in their float spa, I leapt at the opportunity. Floating and sound healing deliver similar results, and they enhance one another when combined.”

Located at 18979 Coastal Highway, Unit 101, Urban Float is a premier floatation therapy spa in Rehoboth. Its team is committed to contributing to overall community wellness.
