Southern Delaware Tourism hosts expo

April 29, 2019

Southern Delaware Tourism held its 4th Annual Tourism Partners Expo at Nassau Valley Vineyards April 16.

The expo allows tourism-related businesses in Sussex County to showcase their offerings to representatives of area accommodations providers who can share information with their guests throughout the coming season. Exhibitors included outfitters, historical societies, attractions, event organizers, transportation providers and tour companies.

Expo exhibitors were able to highlight new offerings, and network and brainstorm about ways of working together to provide new experiences for visitors and locals.

This year’s expo featured 20 exhibitors. Lana O’Hollaren, Southern Delaware Tourism marketing manager, is pleased with the conversations and collaborations the expo encourages between tourism partners. She said, “Of course, our hotel partners discovered many new activities and experiences throughout Sussex County to share with their guests.”

Ingrid Hopkins, owner of The Covered Bridge Inn in Lewes, said, “Trying to grow your business can be a very overwhelming adventure. Southern Delaware Tourism helps to streamline this process. They have gathered a group of tourism professionals into one place and allowed everyone to connect and be inspired. I left the expo with fresh excitement to tackle the upcoming busy season, and gained a few new ideas of how to keep business going year-round.”
