Aquacare Physical Therapy has announced that Sal Mancino Jr., DPT, Cert. MDT, physical therapist, will be seeing patients at its two locations in Lewes.

Mancino received his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Central Florida. He has extensive postgraduate training in the field of manual orthopedic physical therapy. His integrative assessment and treatment approach have been influenced by the teachings of Cyriax, Maitland, Mulligan and McKenzie.

Mancino is a credentialed therapist in the McKenzie Method of mechanical diagnosis and treatment of the spine. This unique method of rehabilitation has been found in studies to be superior in relieving back and neck pain, restoring function and preventing future episodes of pain.

He has completed all the course work required for certification in the evidence-based Maitland-Australian approach to the clinical management of spinal and extremity conditions. The Maitland-Australian is world renowned, and is the cornerstone of modern-day, evidence-based orthopedic manual therapy.

Mancino also recently acquired his certification in balance/vestibular and concussion management from the nationally recognized American Institute of Balance. This certification enhances his current knowledge base to improve treatment strategies for patients with dizziness and balance disorders.

Having treated outpatient orthopedic patients since 2010, Mancino has accumulated a great deal of experience applying the principles of mechanical diagnosis and therapy to the whole spectrum of patients including professional and college athletes, heavy industry employees to office workers, and homemakers. He has also been successful treating patients who have previously failed outpatient physical therapy.

Mancino is available to see patients at the Aquacare/Excellens Physical Therapy locations on Route 24 and in the King Street Row medical complex. To schedule an appointment or free consultation, call 302-945-0200.
