St. Nicholas visits family service at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church

December 10, 2017

St. Nicholas made an appearance Dec. 3 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Lewes during the family LIGHT (Learning In God's House Together) service. He brought chocolate coins for the children, and he spread a message of love and giving to those less fortunate. St. Nicholas was portrayed by the Rev. Ray Michener.

After the service, the children and parents stocked the newly constructed Little Cupboard with canned goods and nonperishable foods. The cupboard, located along the fence on Second Street, is a church ministry of Feed the Children Heart and Soul, and it houses food and other items for those in need. Visitors are encouraged to take items they can use and also put things in to give to those less fortunate.

Families looking for a child-friendly service that offers messages for all ages can consider joining the family service at 10:30 a.m. Sundays in St. Peter's Parish Hall, 211 Mulberry St., Lewes.
