Stanley Figueroa, devoted to family

March 17, 2023

Stanley Figueroa, 42, of Lewes, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Thursday, March 9, 2023, in his home.

Stanley was born Aug. 12, 1980, in Milford, to Maria Torres. He lived with his loving family including his mother, stepfather Mauricio Torres, and his brothers Carlos Figueroa and Gabriel Figueroa. In 1999, he graduated from Sussex Central High School, where he was an all-state soccer player. He then enlisted in the Marine Corps infantry from 1999-04. He was part of the 3rd BN 8th Marines Battalion and was honorably discharged in 2004. He later completed an associate’s degree in criminal justice and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wilmington University.

Stanley married Sintia Rodriguez in 2008 and they had two beautiful sons, Stanley Carson Figueroa and Cason Noah Figueroa. They built a home together in Lewes and raised their children there for many years. Stanley loved nature and spent most of his time outdoors; however, he was the happiest coaching his son at soccer and watching his travel team, Cape Henlopen Rays, play. Stanley devoted his life to his family. He focused his attention on instilling good moral values and teaching his sons to become respectable men.

Stanley was well-known for his strong presence, exemplary integrity, and well-rounded knowledge. He was also kindhearted, polite, honest, and respectful towards others, attributes he hoped to pass on to his two sons. Stanley was admired for his willingness to help others, strong work ethic and great sense of humor. He was known for his sayings, “If you want to play, then let’s play,” and “There is no I in the team.” Stanley was loved and respected by many. He will be missed very much by his young family and everyone who had the privilege to know him.
