Steven M. Turner, cherished his family

Steven M. Turner, 65, of Lewes passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2019, at his home.  He was born April 22, 1954, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., son of the late Homer and Frances (Holloway) Turner. 

Steve was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having honorably served from 1972-76, where he was a Seabee (electrican).  Steve was employed by the National Cemetery Administration - Department of Veterans Affairs for 20 dedicated years, retiring in November 2012.  

Above all, he cherished time spent with those he held most dear.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Pat Turner of Lewes;  his grandchildren: Johnnie Turner of Scott City, Mo. and Lexy Henson (Logan) of Chaffee, Mo.;  his great-grandchildren: Colton Henson, Elijah Henson and Everleigh Henson, all of Chaffee;  his brothers: Dennis Turner (Gigi) of Cape Girardeau, Stanley Turner (Brenda) of Millersville, Mo., and Tom Platt (Lynn) of Lewes; his nieces: Amy (Jeramy), Sarah (Dave), Ali (Kyle), and Mandy; and his nephews:  Stan (Heather) and Mike (Meggan). 

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
