Stevens will make a real difference for Dewey

September 17, 2020

I’ve known Bill Stevens and his wife Janine for a few years now, and they’re absolutely the kind of people that Dewey needs - generous with their time, kind and thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable and talented.  Now Bill is running for council, and we couldn’t ask for a better candidate to help move Dewey forward in a positive direction.

Bill has been active on several town committees, and he and I have worked together on the Budget & Finance Committee for the last two years. Bill is insightful, very knowledgeable about finance, is a team player and now chair of the committee.  Bill’s financial background is exactly what is needed in this time of uncertainty and creativity to keep Dewey financially stable and growing.

While Gary Persinger and David Moskowitz have experience as commissioners, new thinking and blood are very much needed on council right now, and Bill is the person to provide just that.  In particular, David Moskowitz has been a divisive and troublesome influence on town matters for his entire tenure, and has filed numerous FOIA and AG complaints, stuck his nose in matters that are not his charge, and alienated most everyone he’s come in contact with. His abrasive personality and style are not a fit for Dewey, and we need to ensure that Bill Stevens replaces him on council.

Please join me in voting for Bill Stevens for commissioner in the Sept. 26 election.

Dewey Comprehensive Plan Committee chair
former chair and current member of the Budget & Finance Committee
