Stevenson School of Excellence focus group set Dec. 18

December 16, 2019

The Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence will host its next community focus group at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Seaford Public Library.

Set to open in 2021, the Sussex County-based charter high school is named in honor of Bryan Allen Stevenson, a prolific social justice activist and lawyer from Milton.

Stevenson is the founder of the Equal Justice Initiative in Montgomery, Ala., and author of the critically acclaimed New York Times bestseller “Just Mercy.”

This session will provide information about Bryan Allen Stevenson as well as the vision of the service-learning-based charter school to foster critically conscious students who are self-empowered community leaders who advocate for change.

Residents, parents, students and teachers may speak freely about the state of education in Sussex County.
