Strike Out Parkinson’s bowling event set Nov. 2

Sponsors and donations sought by Oct. 20 for Lefty’s fundraiser
September 20, 2018

The Parkinson’s Education and Support Group of Sussex County will host its second annual Strike Out Parkinson’s bowling fundraiser from noon to 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, at Lefty’s Alley and Eats, Lewes. Funds are used to support exercise classes held weekly around Sussex County for the Parkinson’s community.

Businesses can sponsor a team for $500, which includes two lanes for one hour of bowling and shoe rentals for a team of 5-8 employees. Business sponsors will also get marketing for the event: business logo including lane billboards, logo on event poster, announcement in PESGSC newsletter and on social media, and more. Team members can also collect pledges to raise additional funds.

The individual participant who raises the most pledges for the day wins three months’ membership at RISE Fitness + Adventure. Team awards will be presented during the event for highest score, best-dressed team, etc. Businesses can also sponsor an individual bowler for $125 which includes some marketing as well. Sponsor registration deadline is Saturday, Oct. 20.

There will be a silent auction all day where attendees can get some holiday shopping done! Donations of gift cards, gift certificates for services, gift baskets, etc. are welcome as well. Donations may be dropped off at RISE Fitness + Adventure, 35770 Airport Road, Rehoboth Beach, by Oct. 20.

Lefty’s Alley & Eats will also donate a percentage of the day’s sales to PESGSC; customers should tell their server they are supporting the Parkinson’s group.
