Sussex Academy elementary school students participated in a number of hands-on activities during the annual science and math night April 30.
Field experts from the Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitation Institute and Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control brought displays and artifacts students were invited to hold and explore, and members of Sussex Academy’s Computer Science Honor Society designed robots specifically for younger students to operate.
Elementary and high school teachers hosted science- and math-related activities, including creating UV bracelets, and fun math games including fact fluency bingo, roll and race, and Crazy 8s.
Students also displayed entries they created for the Upcycled Art Contest under this year’s theme of Animals That Fly.
Sussex Academy is a tuition-free, public charter K-12 school in Georgetown.
