January 18, 2020

The Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre will return for its 39th season of plays for family audiences, as well as film and theatre camps for children. The season runs from Sunday, July 5, through Friday, Aug. 21, with exciting, fun-filled activities for all ages.

“Peter Pan” and “Hansel and Gretel,” performed on stage at Epworth United Methodist Church, are designed to delight audiences form the youngest toddler to the most senior of citizens. Created by company founders Elise and Steve Seyfried, the plays are performed entirely by two professional actors who bring all the characters to life. An extended outreach tour will take the productions into libraries and camps, reaching every corner of Kent and Sussex counties.

The Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre also offers children opportunities to get into the act. Theatre camps for ages 5-12 give young actors the experience of auditioning and rehearsing a scripted play each week, concluding with a Friday performance for family and friends. Film camps for ages 8-14 provide hands-on experience in all aspects of filmmaking: writing, shooting and editing original films.

The schedule of “Peter Pan” and “Hansel and Gretel” at Epworth includes performances at 7 p.m., Tuesdays, and 11 a.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays. Tickets are $10; children under 3 are admitted free. The church is located at 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach.
