Support candidates focusing on future, not past

August 3, 2018

I would like to thank the Rehoboth Beach candidates Byrne, Coluzzi and Glass for running for city commissioner.

I am supporting Pat Coluzzi and Dick Byrne with no reservations.

Why? I want our town to focus on today’s issues and on the future. I don’t want to look backward at issues that have already been dealt with in the past.

We need to elect commissioners who are taking a more visionary, participatory approach to our city. We need to elect commissioners who want to implement policies and practices that promote cleanliness, safety, hospitality and tourism, in coordination with our property owners, businesses and guests.

These two candidates are visionary, collaborative, positive and are looking to our future needs. They want to bring public and private organizations together, in partnership, to address our needs as property owners, businesses, and guests. They promote ideas like improved canal access, better protection of trees and enhancement to our beautiful parks. They are committed to working with citizens and businesses to support city-wide infrastructure improvements and to maintain the charm of our city - and not just tax and overspend.

I want commissioners who focus on facts, not those who support organizations that relay misinformation. I want commissioners who are positive and truthful, who focus on the future, not those who are resurfacing issues from the past.

I hope you will join me in voting for Pat Coluzzi and Dick Byrne on Aug. 11.
