Susan Garey Dill, former Denton mayor

Susan Garey Dill, 67, of Rehoboth Beach passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, at Atlantic General Hospital, in Berlin, Md.  She was born March 12, 1951, in Denton, M., daughter of the late William R. and Harriett E. Garey.

Ms. Dill was a longtime caregiver at the Denton Child Development Center and a former mayor of Denton, where she helped create the Caroline County Summerfest.  She spent many enjoyable summers in Rehoboth Beach, which influenced her decision to retire there. Her love of the beach and the ocean was only surpassed by her affection for her adored family. Ms. Dill was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Ms. Dill is survived by her beloved daughter, Melinda Dill Campbell and her husband David; her grandchildren: Harper, Jack and Grant; her brother, Alan Garey and his wife Sherry; her sister, Harriett Smith and her husband Curt; and her many nieces and nephews.

Entombment services will take place at the columbarium at Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Henlopen Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, Monday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Ms. Dill's memory to the Denton Child Development Center: 222 South 4th St., Denton, MD  21629.
