Suspected Milford child rapist awaits extradition

November 21, 2017

A man wanted by Milford police in connection with child rape awaits extradition after marshals found him Nov. 20 in Virginia.

Milford police had sought Carlos Gonzalez-Valesquez, 31, since 2014 in connection with rape involving a victim under the age of 12, said William David, supervisory deputy for the U.S. Marshal Service. A Sussex County grand jury indicted Gonzalez-Valesquez in September on 27 counts of first-degree rape victim under the age of 12, sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust and endangering the welfare of a child.

David said Milford police shared information with marshals who found Gonzalez-Valesquez in Richmond, Va.

Gonzalez-Valesquez gave marshals a fake name, but later admitted his identity; he is being held pending extradition to Delaware, David said.

During the investigation, David said, marshals discovered that at least one individual, Emma Dorly Navarro-Ventura, was aiding and harboring Gonzalez-Valesquez. Navarro-Ventura was charged with two felonies.
